The Ransom Price
When a person is kidnapped, a ransom is usually demanded in exchange for the release of the captive: and if the ransom price is not paid, the life of the victim is forfeited.
The world is full of hostages today, and you are one of them. You are held captive by sin and by Satan: for Уhe that committeth sin is the servant (slave) if sinФ (John 8:34) And the price of your deliverance is far greater you can pay. But, hopeless though your case may seem, there is hope. The Lord Jesus Christ is come Уto give deliverance to the captive and to set at liberty them that are boundФ (Isaiah 61:1). УHe gave His life a ransom for manyФ (Mark 10:45).
Do you realize that you are the captive of sin? Then you can be free today by accepting the ransom price, the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
УBeware lest He take thee away with His stroke: Then a great ransom cannot deliver theeФ (Job 36:18)
